I couldn't agree more, and that's why I started photographing sports -- to capture a special play, determined looks during competition, the joy of victory and yes, the agony of defeat.
Some of my best memories are from playing sports as a kid. I loved them all ... from tee ball to soccer (back when it wasn't a cool sport), then YMCA basketball, Little League baseball, junior high and high school team sports including my favorite: football. I was a three-year starter at wide receiver, free safety and placekicker; however, two games from the end of my senior season, I tore the ACL, MCL and meniscus in my left knee. My college football hopes were dashed, but my affinity for all sports remained.
Because my "real job" won't allow me the time to commit myself as a coach or official, I choose to shoot local sports with two goals:
(1) to get involved with and give back to our community, and
(2) to provide a few "keeper" images for you to remember these moments.
BOTTOM LINE: I'm not trying to make a profit, but there are some overhead costs I need to cover (website fees, equipment, etc.).
While I may only be a part-time photographer, I still put 100% effort into producing professional, quality images every time I shoot. I believe you'll find my work equals or exceeds much of what you'll see in the Commercial Appeal and on prep sports websites...and at more affordable prices!.

$1 for low-res image suitable for Facebook, Twitter, etc.
$2 for a 4x6 print
And I'll custom-crop or special process any photo...all you have to do is ask!

To reiterate, this is my hobby. No one hired me to shoot these events. I'm out there simply because I love sports AND photography.
